Shipping Updates

Hey folks! Going to jump right in to shipping updates.

FBA to Direct: First Batch

I have pulled the trigger on moving stagnating units out of FBA for direct shipments. I am starting with a single FC. Here is breakdown on the first batch details:

  • The first batch will consist only of units at LEX. If your Deep Dive Current Location shows "1850 Mercer Rd, Lexington, KY 40511" then you are included in this batch.

  • The first batch has a total of 48 units.

  • The units have already started moving to sideline and will head to the shipping partner(UPS) location over the next 48-72 hours.

  • The UPS center is within the same industrial park area, so it should be a quick transition to "ready to ship"

  • The earliest estimate for first direct shipments from this batch is Wednesday 1/8. This is not 100% confirmed and I will know more as I see how everything progresses over the weekend.

  • Deep Dive will already have updated for these specific units by the time this update gets out, so check there for confirmation that your unit is included.

I feel strongly that this is the correct move and will resolve the logistics issues I have been having with FBA. Once I see some positive results, I will start working through the other units by FC.

Direct From Argyle Labs

I spent about an hour grabbing inventory for additional direct shipments. These parts will join in with the batch of units heading out on Monday, bringing the total to 18 units.

What I Hit Today

  • After day job stuff, the first things I tackled where the FBA logistics updates. The calls went smoothly so all in all I am pleased with the time spent.

  • Converting my dev unit to a daily demo unit. The main reason it has been difficult for me to demo new functionality immediately is because my daily driver Mugsy is often in pieces while I test out specific functions or designs. This is pretty dumb, there should always be at least one unit in my shop running at 100%. My plan was to finish up this work by the early evening so I could get onto brew demos. I spent a lot of time working on the plumbing and converting reservoir access from the rear to the side(the current design standard). Changing the water access location requires a somewhat significant rebuild of the enclosure frame. After that, I did not have enough time to finish up rewiring the grinder motors and main power routing before having to jump on tonight's update. I will be finishing up the wiring at some point tomorrow and then jumping on brew demos. The demos might go out tomorrow but I want to give myself a little wiggle room. They will go live no later than Sunday night.

What I Will Be Working On Over the Next 48 Hours

  • Packing up kits for Monday's direct shipments.

  • Manual Updates that I did not get to on Tues/Wednesday.

  • Demos as discussed above.

  • Assembled unit build outs. These will not be ready for Monday's shipment but I will have an update on expected ship times on Monday. I should also be able to show off some completed ones early in the week. Hoping for a few on Monday but giving myself until Tues/Wednesday.

Ok that is all for now. I will be posting a small form update on Sunday that will most likely only include the brew demos. I hope to include some build manual updates as well but I don't want to over promise and under deliver so that is currently tentative.

There are still a couple of things I need to check off from the previous update's todo list. The most important being confirmed deliveries. Although there are some confirmations, until I have real world backers sharing pics/videos with me and on social media, there is not much I can say that will make an actual impact for those still waiting. And I do not mean to imply that I'm waiting on users to jump in, this is all on me getting higher quantities of units out and doing it quickly. I hope to be able to share content from users receiving new deliveries starting next week and will be updating expectations on this front as frequently as possible.

Thanks and I look forward to yapping with everyone again on Sunday night.

Cheers,

-m
