Update!
Hey folks, here are the bits:
CAD Files: I have started releasing the fabrication and design files on the Mugsy Org repo. Currently, all fabrication files for the cone mech (STL, DXF ) are available along with the additional parts list. STEP/Fusion and PCB source files will be up shortly, they still require some cleanup. Additional components will be going up every couple of days as I have room. You can find them in the Design repo in the Mugsy org page here: https://github.com/MugsyOS/.
Please note that the old original repos are no longer active. All releases will be in the org page at the provided link.
Mug Platform Scale: As mentioned in the last update, I could not shake the mug platform weight sensors at all. I hated them, full stop. Over the last couple of days I prototyped a much simpler design that utilizes a beam style load cell. With the addition of a small signal routing PCB, the sensor will now be a self contained part and the only end user wiring for kit builders will be plugging in the JST. This seems like a tiny thing but the previous revisions were still way too complicated. HUGE win. There will be a further revision to slim it down a bit and the signal routing PCB was sent to the fab house this morning. Here is an exploded render that should illustrate the setup, plus another pic of the rough print proto:
The platform will have two of these components and a simple calibration helper will be added to the front end.
Cloud Control: Unfortunately I have not been able to circle back to this to finish up and open the testing to the beta users. I don’t want to put a firm day on it but it will be very soon. I have time scheduled to work on it this upcoming week.
Other Bits:
Over the next couple of weeks design and code releases will ramp up as I continue to complete more cleanup and organization tasks.
Assembly, kit prep, and brew testing is slowly taking over as the primary workload.
Cad, code, and part lists aren’t very useful without good docs. I’m working on this when not hitting other tasks but there is still a lot to cover. More details on this subject in the coming weeks.
Ok, that is all for now. Next update will be next weekend with some quickies thrown in for any new completions.
Cheers!
