Housekeeping + a Hacky Stepper Demo

Hey Folks, just a couple fo very quick updates that I did not get a chance to touch on yesterday.

Hacky Demo

Here is a very quick and hacky stepper motor demo with the new pour over mechanism. First without the cone, then with. No bearing mounts yet, so it will be an even smoother ride once installed. And obviously, Im holding the stepper and the mount, so the belt tension and level is way off here. #listeningto Lulu - Oh me, oh my, Im a fool for this new pour over set up!

This new setup will allow our coffee obsessed users to dial in their perfect cup like never before. By minimizing variability in the pour over process, we can ensure highly repeatable results...and that is the key to finding your next favorite brew.

First bearing mount tests are printing as I type this.

If This Then That

I had someone reach out and ask if Mugsy currently works with IFTTT.  As a daily user, I felt pretty dumb realizing I had never even thought of creating a Mugsy integration for it.

Well good news, an IFTTT service is currently in development and should be ready to play with in a few days.

#IFTTT

#IFTTT

Not yet familiar with IFTTT? Here is a basic rundown from ComputerWorld(Link):

What is IFTTT? IFTTT derives its name from the programming conditional statement “if this, then that.” What the company provides is a software platform that connects apps, devices and services from different developers in order to trigger one or more automations involving those apps, devices and services.

Here are just three if this, then that automations you can run with IFTTT:

* If you make a call on your Android phone, then a log of that call is added to a Google spreadsheet.

* If you add a new task to your Amazon Alexa to-dos, then it will be added to your iOS Reminders app.

* If the International Space Station passes over your house, then you’ll get a smartphone notification about it. (Yes, this is an actual IFTTT applet.)

There you have it. By creating an IFTTT service, Mugsy will be able to integrate with hundreds of new services and apps almost immediately.

Pretty cool.

Aluminum Update

Our Aluminum has not yet shipped. We ended up having to get an import agent to handle the process for us. Due to the ongoing trade and tariff disputes, our manufacturing partner was sympathetic but unable to assist with the logistics. I expect it to be on the boat no later than the end of next week, with delivery in 30-ish days.

No Biggie.

OK, thats all for now. Hope everyone has a great night!

Cheers,

-m
