Motoring.
Hey folks, just a quick update on Mugsy's pour over cone motor mount.
Fugtional!
What's fugtional? Well, that's when a part works but holy cow is it ugly...I'm quite happy with the simplicity and functionality but there's still a bit more to do. I have to correct some spacing issues with the mounting holes, run through some spring layout and tension tests and install these tiny and seriously adorable bearings to smooth out the movement:
The new mount allows the motor to float in space while always maintaining contact with the cone. It also requires zero adjustments from the user, which is exactly the itch I was trying to scratch. Here are a few pics:
This design will surely change a lot between now and assembly. I'm gonna fix the mounting hole spacing tomorrow and then push the cad files to the github. Even though it won't be a final version, some real world prints and hands on tinkering will be good for everybody.
I am also working on a larger update, hoping to push it out on Wednesday or Thursday evening. Stay tuned for that and have a great night!
Cheers,
