PCB Bits

  • I have started testing the latest revision on the PCBs. Everything is working as expected:

  • There are two minor issues with the board but they are not blockers. First issue is that the wrong footprint was used for the SMD status LED (3535 instead of 5050) and the second issue is also a wrong footprint, resulting in incorrect lead spacing for a decoupling capacitor.

  • I have 3535 LED’s on hand, so will be using them for this batch. The capacitors can be made to fit, it’s just a little wonky looking.

  • There is a new revision already being fab’d to resolve these two minor issues, but we will be rolling with this current in-hand batch either way. Two of the PCBs will be heading out to beta testers before the end of this week to use in their assembly next steps.

Shipping

  • Right now we are looking ok to start shipping units by 5/18.

  • Quantities are expected to be low in those batches. Possibly even single units for the first couple of days.

  • More details will be ready early next week.

Assembly Vids and Code

  • Nothing new to report here unfortunately. Hoping to focus on this over the next 2-3 days.

Next update will be out on Thursday/Friday with a long form out on Sunday. Hoping to have some PCB demo vids ready to go for Sunday.
