Pour Patterns

Hey folks! I wanted to get a quick update out before the holiday tomorrow. I have integrated the cone/spout controls into the recipe creator. There are a few things still missing, but only some very basic buttons/options that I will be adding in on Friday.

I’m not going to do a full breakdown of the functionality until the weekend, but I have a quick video that illustrates the control options.

The important stuff:

  • Programming cone and spout movements have been combined into a single action.

  • By adjusting Segments and Pour Lanes, creating a complex patterns is just as easy as creating a basic one.

  • Segment: Think of this as a target area within the pour over cone. As segment count increases, the target area covered in a single cone move decreases.

  • Pour Lanes: the circular route the spout will take over the cones as the cone rotates. As lanes increase, the spout moves across the cone in smaller increments.

  • Blue = water is pouring while the spout is moving over that segment.

The video shows a few examples, starting with a very basic pour pattern and moving up in complexity:

A couple of additional details:

  • Movements occur in the order they are selected,

  • There is a point at which the size of the spout/water stream is wider than the segment/lane it is covering.

  • The spout is programmed to follow a line over the center of the lane.

Ok, that is all for now, hopefully the video provides some insight into the programmer’s functionality. I will have the remaining items added on Friday with a deep dive into Recipe Creation going out this weekend.

Hope everyone celebrating has a great Thanksgiving!

Cheers!
