Update!

Hey folks, lets get to it…

Shipping:

  • I am currently switching shipping services from Easy Ship to Ship Station.  Shipping costs have increased a lot since the pandemic started, but the difference even from just a few weeks ago is significant. The savings between both services is kind of shocking. Ship Station per package costs are almost 70% cheaper than Easy Ship, and well within our collected shipping fees. This was not the case when I originally selected Easy Ship, and I assume that Ship Station’s rapid growth has allowed them to haver much more favorable relationships with the shipping companies.

  • Some shipment tracking numbers that have gone out for unshipped units may now show cancelled as they are being relabeled through the new service.

  •   I have created a couple of manual shipments for set up and testing purposes and will be running the rest of the orders through the system over the next several days.

  • Since I have still been unable to complete the remaining software requirements, shipments will be held for at least another 1-2 weeks.

Code:

  • The last couple of weeks were not as productive as I had hoped, mostly due to day job requirements. I think there is only 3-4 day’s worth of things to complete, but it’s a matter of stringing the days together. I am going to give myself 1-2 weeks to complete everything, which should be enough buffer to cover any issues that pop up.

  • The goal here is not perfection, just making sure all minimum required features are working and tested properly.

Other Bits:

  • The next shipping update will be out on Monday, 2/21. It will include a progress report on any completed requirements and updated ETAs as warranted.

  • I will push software updates out throughout this week, most likely timing will be Thursday the 17th  and Sunday the 20th.

  • Some folks have asked why I no longer post to the Facebook page. The reality is that I try to use Facebook as little as possible. I do receive a lot of messages over the FB page, so it will stay up as it is an easy way to reach out to me. Instagram content will increase once we have actual shipments going out.  The primary place to find high frequency/recent updates will continue to be the blog site. Kickstarter updates will go out when there is significant info/news to share.  KS is overdue for an update, so I will post something there this week, most likely Wednesday night.

Ok, that is all for now. I will see everyone again in a few days. Cheers!
