Grinder Status

Hey folks, here are the bits:

  • The main grinder work is done, I have completed the layout positioning, mount and enclosure . I was able to successfully implement a design that allows for both height and forward/backward positional adjustments. You can tweak the grinder’s position to line up with whatever common cone setup you prefer.

  • There are two remaining steps before I can call this complete, and both are in progress:

    • I need to create a function that spins the cone while grinding. This is required because the grinder spout is off-center to allow room for the water spout at the cone’s center. Spinning the cone during grinding ensures the grounds are evenly distributed.

    • The grinder’s current position makes cone removal a bit tricky since there isn’t much room to get your hand in there. To fix this, I’m updating the cone mech mount so that it slides out horizontally instead of lifting vertically off the mount. I already have a basic sketch for the part, so I just need to finalize and fab.

  • I was expecting some significant internal layout updates once we finalized the pour functionality, but this grinder layout work turned out to be much more difficult than anticipated. I really appreciate your patience while I got things figured out.

  • I won’t be recording demos today, but they’ll be up by Wednesday night.

  • I’ve pushed the grinder enclosure files to the design repo here

Thanks again and keep an eye out for the updated demos going out on Wednesday. Cheers!
